A guided somatic experience.
Takes place on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.
Location: Fairfax Community Church
Time: 7-9pm (doors close at 7:10)
Join us as we gather together for our monthly Emotional Release Breathwork Circle with live music! With the skillful guidance of breathwork facilitators Britt Barrett and Beth Foley, alongside handpan extraordinaire Govinda Bader, you will have the opportunity to safely explore the transformative power of intentional breath. Together, we create a supportive environment where you can reconnect to your body, explore your inner world, and safely release held emotions among like-minded community. If you'd like to feel more ease in your daily life, we would love for you to join us!
Every gathering will follow the same rhythm of arrival practice, guided breathwork, somatic integration, and sharing circle. We alternate between two complementary approaches: the energetic Holotropic method (Britt's practice, learned from David Elliott) and the receptive Hologenic technique (Beth's practice, learned from Perry & Johanna Holloman).
We cap the groups to ensure the highest quality experience, so secure your spot early. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat, pillow, blanket, water bottle, journal, and anything else you need to feel cozy.
This session is designed for individuals with prior experience in emotional release breathwork or a related practice. This type of breathwork is not well-suited for expecting mothers or people with epilepsy or pacemakers.
Join us every month for an in-person breathwork group circle
Science OF BREATHWORK
Taking more oxygen into our system, creates physiological changes in our body. Our blood becomes more alkaline and this changes which areas of our brain activate or deactivate. The part of our brain that gets shut off during breathwork is called the DMN or default mode network, this includes the frontal cortex that is responsible for the idea of the self/ego.
THE EGO MIND IS THEN ABLE TO QUIET DOWN AND CREATE SPACE FOR US TO CONNECT WITH OUR INNER VOICE AND DEEP WISDOM.
This helps us to see our self talk more clearly and unravel ourselves from it. The past is not fixed. Every time we change our world view, our memory of our past changes with it.
The purpose of Breathwork is to help you open your heart, allow you to feel your own energy, and tap into the emotions that may be blocking your connection to yourself and loved ones.

“Participating in breathwork circles with Britt Barrett is one of the most exciting life experiences that I have had recently… For me, this breathwork technique facilitates total emotional freedom.”
